Fletcher Reed is a brilliant lawyer and an incorrigible liar. He habitually lies to his wife, Audrey, to his son, Max, and teaches clients to tailor the truth to suit their needs, to reshape the truth for their own benefit. His wife leaves Fletcher because of his harmful habit of lying, and on his birthday, when Max blows out the candles on the cake, he makes only one wish: “I want my beloved daddy to stop lying all the time.”
