Fourth‑grader Fujino draws short comics for the school newspaper. Adults and classmates praise her talent, but one day she sees the work of her peer Kyomoto, who, although she doesn’t attend school, also draws for the same newspaper. Struck by her level of skill, Fujino decides to learn to draw better. The girl spends two years in continuous practice, but, realizing that she can’t catch up with that level, she gives up drawing. Elementary school is ending, and the teacher asks Fujino to take the graduation diploma to Kemoto.
