High school student Hikaru went alone to the mountain and disappeared, and a week later he returned alive and unharmed. Six months later, his best friend and classmate Yoshiki, who had long suspected something was wrong, asks a direct question and gets a direct answer: Hikaru died, and something took over his body — something that doesn’t even know what it is, but it really wants to live as a human and doesn’t want to kill Yoshiki at all. The guys decide to continue being friends as if nothing had happened, and soon terrible events begin to unfold in their village.
